I was invited to present at “Escaping the Vacuum: Enhancing Dialogue, Trust, and Community,” the biannual training day for the Fordham University Division of Student Affairs. With an audience of over 100 student affairs professionals, the day centered on empowering our division to distinguish between individual and shared perspectives, communicate effectively and inclusively, understand how societal divisiveness affects our work, and instill best practices for maintaining a respectful community.
As part of the day’s lineup, I presented to nearly 50 attendees on “Accessibility in Communication: Best Practices for Inclusion & Awareness” during two breakout sessions. After discussing tips and tricks for visual and written communication, presentations, and event promotion, the floor was open for questions on how to apply these concepts to specific projects and initiatives.
