I’ve officially been at the Fordham Career Center for six months! During this busy and exciting time, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some incredible projects that have challenged me as a professional and significantly contributed to my personal growth.
My first large contribution to the Career Center was the overhaul of the office’s brand guidelines. I implemented visual guidelines, created a language assistance guide, developed checklists and how-to guides for office student workers, and revitalized key visual materials like postcards, booklets, and email newsletter templates.
At the same time, I refreshed and restructured the general marketing and social media strategy. Since starting my position, our Instagram page increased reach by 231.5% and new followers by 823.1%. In the same period, our TikTok page grew video views, reached audience, engagement, and website clicks by more than 999.99% and our email newsletter click rate increased by 40%.
After settling into my role, I also worked with the university web team to restructure the Career Center’s website and collaborated with both the employer relations and student engagement teams to update the site’s content. These updates helped to boost the site’s quality assurance score to 91.7 (versus industry benchmark of 74.4) and digital certainty index to 90.69 (versus industry benchmark of 81).
While my role is marketing focused, I have also been able to participate in the office’s student engagement efforts. I have collaborated with several student organizations, including Commuter Student Services, to take professional headshots for over 100 students at no cost to the students.
For the rest of this academic year, I will continue to prioritize the development of digital resources and the improvement of our digital platforms. Furthermore, I will begin to implement strategies to better engage our audience in a digital capacity. I look forward to further learning and development with my colleagues!
