What’s New with Campus Involvement

Welcome back Valiants! Right about now, you’re probably starting to feel comfortable with your schedule for the semester, and maybe even thinking about how to add on and be more active on campus. As everyone is settling back into campus life, some pretty important changes have been implemented with clubs and organizations to make sure your campus experience is the best it can be.

To start, The ‘Ville is going to be more important than ever. Starting this semester, all weekly club/organization meetings, as well as special events, will be listed on The ‘Ville, making it even easier to find ways to get involved on campus. With this, all meetings and events will be using mobile check-in. You’ve probably seen this method before at events like Involvement Fairs and Center for Design Thinking events, and it simplifies the sign-in process as it only requires your student ID number. Commuters also now get double the perks: with mobile sign-in for everything, it’s even easier to get travel points that you can put towards future events. To learn more about how travel points work, visit CSIL or The ‘Ville for more information.

If you’re not technologically savvy, there are several additional options for staying in the loop with what’s happening on campus. CSIL will now send weekly emails to all students with a list of events scheduled for the week. Plus, a news wall with a comprehensive calendar is rumored to be added to the new Commuter Lounge, opening soon!

While there are many more details to come, there are some pretty exciting big events going on this semester. The new Commuter Lounge will open to students within the next few weeks, featuring more space for the school’s growing commuter population. CSIL is hosting a movie series with several popular movies being shown in the Berman Theater throughout the semester. The International Bazaar is being held on February 21st in the East Room. The Vagina Monologues are being held on February 22nd and 23rd in the Berman Theater. Commuter Council is hosting Commuter Appreciation Week the week of February 24th. Quad Jam dates are yet to be released. MVP is hosting its annual Film Festival on May 3rd, featuring student and club work, as well as outside films, with submissions accepted.

There’s so much happening at M’ville this semester, so you’ll definitely want to stay in the loop. The ‘Ville can be found at mville.presence.io or through the Manhattanville College website, as well as on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as a mobile app.
