The Challenge
The Fordham Career Center “Meet the Team” page is a high-traffic resource for students, alumni, employers, and faculty. However, the original tabbed structure was functionally flawed: the content was invisible to the University’s AI chatbot, and the “vague” staff notes didn’t provide enough context for stakeholders to find the right point of contact.
The Solution
Following a consultation with University Marketing and Communications on TerminalFour advanced formatting, I redesigned the directory into a humanized, template-driven experience. The new individual profiles include:
Optimized UX: Formatted contact info and web-ready headshots.
Strategic Content: Expanded bios, professional backgrounds, and a “How I Can Help” section tailored to specific stakeholder groups.
Engagement: Personal “fun questions” to build rapport and “similar profile” recommendations to aid navigation.
Sustainability
I managed the end-to-end execution—totaling over 30 hours of specialized audit, design, and editorial refinement. This transition from a static list to a dynamic directory not only improved technical accessibility but also transformed the Career Center’s digital ‘front door’ into a more welcoming, navigable resource.
To ensure the project’s long-term success, I integrated the profile submission form into the official staff onboarding process, guaranteeing the directory remains accurate as the team evolves.
