Battle of the Brands: Rhode Skin

It’s the Social Girls Being Social Battle of the Brands! Who’s going to come out on top?

I was paired with Jen Gaudreau and Filippa Varotsi to ideate and pitch a new campaign concept in 30 minutes for rhode skin.

Our strategy was rooted in a summertime favorite that screams classic Americana: cherries. Building on the hype for this fruity trend, we imagined a new pocket blush shade and outlined a social, community, and influencer campaign revolving around the tagline “Cherry on Top” 🍒

The brand visuals would align with rhode’s famous food-based launches, showcasing the blush with piles of cherries or mimicking a cherry on top of a whipped cream swirl. The messaging would reinforce the simplicity of application; just like a cherry on top completes a dessert, this new blush completes your summer skin routine.

Audience members would be encouraged to share how their blush serves as the “cherry on top” in their lives, sharing images of the product on top of their beach towels, travel bags, brunch tables, cosmetic countertops, and poolside decks.

The campaign centerpiece would be a collaboration with influencer Nara Smith, creating scratch-made cherry-based desserts, like cherry pie, while integrating the new blush shade as a sweet and effortless final touch. 🥧

Developing this campaign with Jen and Fi was sweet as pie, but coming in first place was absolutely the cherry on top. 🌸

Congrats to all the contestants (who developed exciting campaign ideas for Fenty and Rare Beauty!), and thanks to social girls Maeve and Zoe for hosting!
