Castle Collective Student Creator Program

In my role as Marketing Coordinator for Manhattanville’s Office of Communications and Marketing, I was responsible for the ideation, development, launch, and execution of the Castle Collective student creator program.

Context

  • Lack of active student involvement with the Office of Communications and Marketing returning from the pandemic
  • Limited student-generated content or organic social media mentions on TikTok
  • Need for additional support in creating short-form videos for the College’s new TikTok profile and other emerging media content, such as podcasts
  • Desire to better integrate student voice and create opportunities for experiential learning

Creating the Castle Collective

  • Formed as a volunteer opportunity, allowing members to have flexible participation ranges
  • Promoted on Handshake, encouraging awareness of on-campus resources
  • Accepted ongoing open content submissions
  • Invited members to content challenges, shadow new projects and initiatives, and to assist in event coverage as needed
  • Encouraged brainstorming and pitching of new campaigns and initiatives
  • Welcomed 17 creators in the first semester
