I am incredibly happy to share that the Spring 2021 edition of the Castle Voices Newsletter has been published! This is my second year with the Newsletter and in addition to designing the project, I was also promoted to an editor.
Since there were no events beyond those associated with required courses, the newsletter lean on the thinner side. With this, I had a lot of creative flexibility in the visual presentation to make the project as exciting as possible. I opted to create a layout that felt more like a magazine than a newsletter, which was well received by the campus community.
Additionally, I took several of the core courses offered for Castle Scholars this academic year, which allowed me to take a distinctly hands-on approach in recruiting new contributors and coordinating submissions, as well as submitting my own original content. While many of the articles were traditional to include, I was able to add an interview with a new Castle Scholars professor and a retiring Castle Scholars professor, as well as an expanded feature on the Castle Scholar presentations that were included in the virtual Undergraduate Research & Creative Achievement Fair.
I am excited to share this year’s copy of the newsletter, and look forward to continuing my involvement next year as Editor-in-Chief and Graphic Designer!
